Paul Clarkson has been appointed as managing editor of The Sun newspaper.
Editor of the Irish Sun, Paul Clarkson, has moved to The Sun in the role of managing editor.
Clarkson is replacing Stig Abell, who is moving to become the editor of TLS.
TLS is a literary News UK title.
Abell was previously a director of the Press Complaints Commission, before taking his role at The Sun.
Clarkson has been editor of the Irish Sun for three years.
Replacing Clarkson is Kieran McDaid, current deputy editor of the title.
Paul has been editor of The Irish Sun for three years and has done brilliantly building out a distinct identity for the Irish edition, cementing the paper as the most-read tabloid in Ireland as well as staring an edition in Northern Ireland. said Tony Gallagher, editor in chief of The Sun.
