DC Thomson recently undertook large changes to the operations of its company. Ellis Watson, CEO Publishing, comments, I look forward with eager anticipation to the next chapter as we work together to future-proof our Publishing division.
Head of Publishing, Neil OBrien, has held this role since 2012, and worked at DC Thomson since 2003. However he has decided to leave and take a new role as Publisher for a London-based specialist firm. Donald Martin will be the replacement, prior to this he has worked as Editor-in-Chief of DC Thomson Newspapers, Editor of the Sunday Post and The Weekly News. Donalds previous work also includes leading The Herald, Evening Times, Evening Express and The NorthWest Evening Mail.
Deputy Editor of the Evening Telegraph, Steven Bell, will be promoted to Editor. Steven has worked for the company for over 20 years, but progressed his way up to his new title from Assistant Editor, which he began in August 2012.
And DC Thomson also welcomes a new Editor of the Sunday Post and The Weekly News, as Richard Prest moves. Richard has previously worked as the Editor of the Evening Telegraph, and was Deputy Editor of the Evening Express.
In other news, DC Thomsons Evening Express and Evening Telegraph, are also offering a prize pot of more than £100,000 in two Golden Giveaway competitions this week. Prizes included instant wins of Wispa Gold bars and cash prizes ranging from £50 to £10,000.
